Le Ponant is a sleek and efficient sail-cruise ship that has three masts and provides unforgettable days under sail. Interiors are elegant but uncluttered and incorporate three public lounges.  Le Ponant passengers tend to be Sophisticated and Usually French and international. When all cabins have double occupancy, the ship provides a space ratio of 22.5 tons per passenger and a crew to passenger ratio of one for every 2 passengers. At full capacity the space ratio is 21.5 tons per passenger and the crew ratio is one to 2.1 passengers.

The efficiently designed cabins are not large at around 140 square feet but are nicely furnished with fridge, safe and minibar however the storage space is poor. The bathrooms are small but well designed.

Casual and comfortable during the day. In the evening dress is semi formal (jacket and tie for gentlemen and casual elegance for ladies). Formal evenings require a suit or dinner jacket for men and a cocktail dress for ladies.
