Islander is a sturdy, 164-foot, twin-hulled expedition ship, designed for year-round discovery and active exploration. The lounge features full-height windows providing a beautiful panorama.  National Geographic Islander passengers tend to be Adventurous older couples and singles and Mainly American. When all cabins have double occupancy, the ship provides a space ratio of 22.2 tons per passenger and a crew to passenger ratio of one for every 2.4 passengers. At full capacity the space ratio is 21.3 tons per passenger and the crew ratio is one to 2.5 passengers.

Casual and comfortable during the day. In the evening dress may be smarter casual but not too dressy. Proper outdoor clothing must be taken, including wind and waterproof outer layers and watertight boots.
